My freeware @ ZDNet
Get it from NoNags!
Get it from CNET Download.com!

 What is it?

Cryptola is a powerful, easy-to-use file encryption tool for Windows.  I wrote Cryptola because I wanted to protect my system backups (.zip archives that I store online).

Cryptola uses cryptographic technology designed by the National Security Agency (NSA) and published by the NIST as a U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard.

 How do I use it?

Cryptola is easy to use!  Just:

  • Select a file.
  • Select an action (encrypt or decrypt).
  • Enter the password.
  • Click "Do it!"

Cryptola attaches the .cry extension to an encrypted file.  The original file is not altered.

 Download

  Download cryptola.zip (15K)

Download cryptola.zip and extract its contents (the file Cryptola.exe).  To use Cryptola, just run Cryptola.exe - there's nothing to install.  Cryptola is 100% free and contains no adware or spyware.

 System requirements

Cryptola runs on Windows XP and Windows Vista and requires the free Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 framework available here.
