Over the years, I've had the good fortune of coming into close contact with many interesting people, mainly in the corridors of Grand Central Station.  Some of these encounters have touched me deeply - others just ran off with my watch.  All in all, I feel I gained more than I lost, though a hot bath and a visit to the dry cleaners usually took care of that.
