  • Enhancements:
    1. On older Windows systems, if WeatherMate was prevented from creating a desktop shortcut, the message displayed when this happened required it to be manually dismissed.  Now, the message automatically disappears after 10 seconds.
  • Bug fixes:
    1. Radar images and US weather condition maps were sometimes not available.
    2. Metric long descriptions of forecasts for Tonight and Tomorrow Night specified wind speeds in mph instead of kph.
    3. Changes to the metric units and auto-hide modes were sometimes not saved.

  • Bug fixes:
    1. WeatherMate would sometimes crash with a "Parameter is not valid" exception.
    2. If a radar animation sequence isn't available for a location, the location's base radar image is used.  Previously, no radar image was being shown for that location.
    3. The application would sometimes crash when adding more than 6 locations.
    4. Selecting some locations in Mexico (e.g. Tijuana) would cause the application to crash.

  • Enhancements:
    1. Added an option to allow the splash screen to be moved to the lower right corner if it takes a long time for WeatherMate to perform the initial retrieval of weather information.
  • Bug fixes:
    1. WeatherMate now displays an error message (instead of crashing) if the computer's speech settings prevent the application from speaking the weather.
    2. The application crashes on some systems when updating the weather when there's no severe weather alert indicated for the current location.
    3. WeatherMate's position switches to "Custom" when the system wakes up from sleep mode.  (This bug continues to exist when WeatherMate is not displayed on the primary monitor.)

  • Bug fixes:
    1. On Windows XP systems, the application crashes when attempting to create a shortcut on the desktop or in the Start menu's Startup folder.
    2. The application's up time (in the "About" window) is invalid on WinXP systems.
    3. Fixed intermittent network connectivity issues.

    1. Added button to hide WeatherMate so that it only runs in the system tray.
    2. Double-clicking the system tray icon hides/reveals the WeatherMate window.

    5. Reduced time taken to retrieve weather information.
    6. Added indicator to inform user that unseen severe weather alerts exist.  Clicking the indicator displays the location with the alert.

    8. Location tab displays the full location name in a tooltip.
    9. Added timestamp to error log filename.
    10. Installer improvements:
      • Installer now creates a desktop shortcut.
      • Installer now verifies that the installation folder can be written to.
  • Bug fixes:
    1. Fixed crashes that occur when:
      • Application is installed in a folder to which it doesn't have write access.
      • A null reference exception is thrown at WeatherInfoControl.cs:221 and DlgWeatherMate.cs:1558.
      • The system tray icon's tooltip is too long.
      • The application is unable to retrieve the list of voices in the Settings | Speech options.
      • No application is associated with the .html extension.
      • The user attempts to add a seventh location.
    2. Corrected/added radar maps for US states: DE, FL, ID, IL.
    3. Fixed inability to use default proxy when connecting to the internet.
    4. "Today" and "Day by day" forecast text now displays tooltips without requiring WeatherMate to be the active application.
    5. The "Always show temperature of first location in system tray icon" option did not work.
    6. Reduced memory consumption (worked around nasty .NET PictureBox memory leak).
    7. Installer wouldn't allow installation to be cancelled at the folder selection step.

    1. Replaced the "Jump to edge" checkbox with explicit Jump buttons in the "Position" tab in WeatherMate's "Options" dialog.

    5. WeatherMate crashed if the MoveUp/MoveDown or Delete buttons were pressed in the "Locations" window when no entry in the "Selected locations" list was selected.
    6. The "Start with Windows" setting was ignored.
  • New feature:
    1. Added weekly forecast.
  • Usability improvements:
    1. Run selection (on desktop, in system tray) simplified.
    2. "Always on top" setting moved to "Visibility" tab.
    3. Reduced clutter in Settings dialog.
    4. Added "Hide" button to send WeatherMate to the system tray.
    5. Clicking WeatherMate's system tray icon now restores it.
    6. Added "Locations" command to WeatherMate menu.
    7. Added auto-hide sensitivity setting.
